“I recently came across a definition of a ‘Southern Belle’ which concluded that a true Southern Belle possesses an undeniable natural charm, has a warm and dazzling smile and impeccable manners. And that this beautiful and charming woman can be recognized by her unstinting hospitality and graciousness. I fully expected to see a photo of my dear friend Patti Davis next to this definition. I can not imagine a more knowledgeable, accomplished or talented connoisseur of proper manners and etiquette than Patti.

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I was fortunate enough to have known Patti’s mother, the inimitable Miss Lillian. My earliest recollection of birthday parties and summer pool parties at Patti’s home always included lunch or dinner around a properly set table, Miss Lillian dressed to the nines, and making us feel like we were at the fanciest restaurant in town. Not surprisingly, that is exactly how it feels having dinner at Patti’s home to this day. Who would have ever known that those early birthday parties and pool parties would become the bedrock of this incredible new venture, perfectly named Dazzling Manners.”

When it comes to information about etiquette and the dos and don’ts of entertaining, Patti Davis is one of the most knowledgable people I know. She has so much experience dealing with people, hosting and attending parties, that she is a wealth of information. As for her teaching ability, at one point she gave me some informal, one-on-one cooking lessons and the way she taught me she made learning easy. It was fun as well as educational.
